JUHAN ECARE PROJECT
The Juhan Ecare Project is the brainchild of Finnish/French/Ivorian virtuoso guitarist: Juhan Écaré. It is a pan Afro-European initiative featuring some exceptional musical talents from the Ivory Coast, France, Finland, the U.K. and beyond.
This debut album Juhan Ecare Project, recorded in both Africa and Europe, showcases the many different styles Juhan Écaré has mastered whilst touring and recording with some of the world’s top artists. Now, after 30 years experience as a much sought-after live and session musician, at long last, Juhan steps into the limelight with his own compositions.
This fiercely unique album reflects the multicultural heritage of the artist himself fusing African and European soundscapes, bringing international musicians and singers together with song lyrics in Finnish, French, English and Nzema.
Juhan Écaré was the second born child of Finnish playwright Marjatta Écaré and award-winning Ivoirian film director Desiré Écaré. He grew up in Helsinki yearning for travel, and relocated to Paris at the age of 20. He quickly became known in Paris music circles as an exciting and innovative soloist and played in several bands winning national competitions that led to international performances and television appearances. In the late '90s, Juhan studied at America’s prestigious music academy Berklee College of Music in Boston. Soon after returning from the US, Juhan was invited to play with some of Africa’s most renowned solo artists becoming a highly respected and much in-demand musician internationally.
